Apple Ecolette
A cross between Apples Elstar and Prima, Apple Ecolette was bred in the Netherlands, and is a vigorous, notably scab-resistant tree. Moderate yields of medium-sized yellow apples with a heavy deep red flush. The apples are firm and tart with white flesh and a good sugar/acidity balance. Very good resistance to scab and mildew, so very suitable for Irish conditions and particularly useful for organic growers. Self-fertile, but will crop better with a suitable pollination partner. A great substitute for Elstar where scab is a problem.
